BEGINNING PHOTOMONTAGE ONLINE CLASS
If you wonder how I create my photomontages, let me show you how, step by step. I also try to explain my thinking process, showing you, via PDF lessons and lots of short videos, what I'm doing and why. By the end of the class, you'll have all the same tools that I do, and your possibilities are endless.  Limited to 15 students. Registration fee is $180.  To register: http://www.shop.carolleigh.net/

AUDIT: If you've already taken this class and wish to audit it (to refresh your memory), you can do so for just $49. Click here to register to audit the class. Remember, you can't audit this one unless you've taken it in the past!

(Your camera should have the capability of changing lens apertures.) Tripod. This class is designed for students who have a fairly good working knowledge of their cameras and lenses and can work in aperture-priority mode. "PARTS IS PARTS" ONLINE CLASS
THE ASSIGNMENT: Take ten good photos of one subject.

THE PURPOSE: To encourage you to see, to observe, to create, to stretch your photographic skills, to surprise yourself (and others!).

THE BASICS: Pick a subject. Show us an overview. Tell us (in one sentence or two) what's your plan. Get to work.

THE PLAN: You receive a 31-page lesson in composition, line, and design (dubbed the "untutorial" in the inaugural class). You receive a detailed description of what we're doing. You receive constant comments on your progress, both from me and from your fellow students.

THE CLASSROOM: A private Yahoo group where we exchange ideas, show our "work in progress," and where we present our final "slide show."

THE RESULTS: A 10-photo essay revolving around one subject. An increased confidence in your ability to see, create, and work with your camera.

Registration fee: $75

CENTRAL OREGON COAST PHOTO EXPLORATION
Lighthouses, fishing boats, puffins, seascapes, landscapes, stacks of colorful buoys, piles of fishing nets, historic bridges, beaches, birds, offshore rocks, and more.

This is my neighborhood, and I'm happy to offer this photo exploration to take you to my favorite spots where I've been shooting for years. We provide you breakfast every morning at our house, then we're off for a full day of shooting. We'll also take you all out to dinner right next to the ocean one evening.

Registration fee includes daily breakfast, instruction throughout, and a group dinner. Reasonably priced hotel/motel information will be sent to you upon registration. Registration fee is $560 per person. To register: http://www.shop.carolleigh.net/

ASSIGNMENT: MENDOCINO

Remember the "Assignment: Half Moon Bay" and the book we created from it? Well, we're doing the same thing in Mendocino.

Here's an opportunity for you to be part of a team of photographers putting together a color photo book about Mendocino. This beautiful part of the California coast is especially photogenic in spring, and that beauty is what we want to depict in our book. We'll spend 3½ days shooting seascapes, architectural detail, botanical gardens, fishing boats, reflections, flowers, a lighthouse, and more.

I'll be offering instruction, guidance, tips, suggestions, etc. throughout. Although we'll be shooting a lot in the same locations, there will also be time for you to go off on your own, pursuing whatever subject matter you wish.

Locations, maps, shooting times, etc., will be provided you on day one. We'll meet to discuss our project, our shooting styles, our strengths, our weaknesses, what images will work best in our book format, etc. At the end of the workshop, we'll select our final images and I'll put them all together to give to a publisher. Everybody will receive a copy of "our" book. Additional copies are easily ordered from the publisher.

This is a great opportunity to shoot with a specific purpose in mind, to spend time with kindred spirits, to learn more about photography, to enjoy the California coast, and to receive a color book containing some of your photos.

This workshop is limited to 12 photographers and is coming up in April. Sign up now to be a part of this exciting team project.

QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS

Do I need to be an advanced photographer to do this? No. But participants should have a basic working knowledge of their digital cameras.

Do I need to know Photoshop? No.

Do I need to know any post-processing software? Not really. You will have to prepare and size your photos a certain way, but if you have no way of doing that, I can do it for you.

Am I expected to prep my final photos during the workshop? Heck no! This is primarily a shooting expedition. You'll do the final prep when you get home.

Will we all be shooting together? Not necessarily. I'll give you a list of the various locations we should be hitting and the best times to be there. There might be some times when you'll feel like teaming up with a number of other photographers and other times when you'll want to go your own way and seek out compositions on your own. Although I'll give you a list of locations, you're certainly free to stop and shoot anywhere else you wish, as long as it's in the same general Mendocino area.

Can I bring a non-photographing spouse/friend? Yes. Your partner won't be a part of the book, won't be receiving any critiques or instruction, but is welcome to join us in all activities, including the group dinner (or luncheon, depending on timing).

Registration fee: $580 per person.
Bring a non-photographing spouse/friend for $50.
Includes instruction and guidance throughout and one free copy of our final book. It also includes a group dinner/luncheon midway through the workshop. To sign up, visit my online store. Or call me at (541) 563-3834. Otherwise please send check made payable to Picture This, PO Box 1269, Waldport, OR 97394. If sending a check, please call me first to make sure there's still room. ASTORIA (OREGON) PHOTO EXPLORATION

Registration fee: $560
Non-photographing friend/partner/spouse: $50
